June 30, 2005 Match Report - St. Catherines Tigers v Hamilton Hornets The Hamilton Hornets continued to display their ability to play excellent supportive rugby with their latest win over the St. Catherine Tigers. The Hamilton Hornets played a very fluid, and flowing game of rugby, where the backs had a chance to display their scoring touch. The backs scored all of Hamilton's tries, and are now showing their much-anticipated skills, pace, and intensity. The forwards followed the coach's game plan to a "T", and made the ball quickly available for the backs relentless attacks. Scrum half, Peter Van Zyl, continues his try-scoring streak, with 2 tries on the day; but not to be out-done by Peter, inside center, Matt Barrett, scored 2 thundering tries as well. After a four-week break, due to injury, full back Steve Reise returned to the Hornets back line to score two excellent tries. Clearly the try-scoring race between Peter, Matt, and Steve is heating up, and is far from over. Of the 6 tries scored, Peter Van Zyl managed to convert four of them. To St. Catherine's credit, they managed to put two tries past Hamilton's tight defense.
