Match Report:
Hamilton 2nd XV v St Catherines

Saturday June 24, 2006

The Hamilton 2nd team lost to the St. Catharine Tigers in the NRU C league by a score of 34-7.

With a full and dedicated 2nd XV side, the Hornets played well as individuals, but could not connect as cohesive team on Saturday. The only try scored on the day for the Hornets had first-time Hornet Bren Buckley take the crash ball off of a set penalty, bowling over the opposition, only to fall short just metres from the try-line. Quick phase-ball ensued, and John Tavares popped the ball from the base of the ruck to a screaming Tom Edwards for the crash just right of the posts. Try was converted by Chris Gilks.

Scorers for the game were:

Tom Edwards (1), Conversions - Chris Gilks (1)

Player of the Match: Bren Buckley

Final Score: Hamilton 7, Windsor 20
